Inspiring Living Room Ideas

Receiving and being tagged in pictures showing our designs in your homes is one of the best parts of being a creative small business owner. So I thought I would start a regular feature sharing some of these amazing homes, talking colour schemes and curating print combinations that capture the look of some of my favourite interior styles. Starting with Living rooms, here are some of my favourite colour scheme for those wanting a restful space and those wanting to make an impact! Please keep tagging and sharing away to be featured!

Tranquil green living room

Ok ok, so this is our own home, but I thought what better way to start off than that! I tend to design with a home style in mind and of course, that means that a lot of my own interior preferences shine through in my work. My aim was to create a clean, pretty and relaxing vibe in my living room, using a tranquil green paint with dusky pink accessories and parred back furniture for a natural and pretty look. The soft muted colour of the peony print combined with the tranquil palm fern leaf print set off the colour blocked backdrop of Dulux Tranquil Dawn whilst the dusky pink sunflower print adds a splash of colour mirrored in the cushions and flowers on the table. This was my favourite room in the house but those that follow me at @our_family_at_tulip_house will know that we have recently extended  so now have a white blank canvas with which to work with! My three tiered picture ledge as pictured above provides the perfect faffing opportunity or all my frames but I’m pretty sure some green paint may make an appearance soon, watch this space!

Beautiful colour contrasts

The bolder the better for this bright but grown up colour palette expertly styled by the lovely Renata @our_south_devon_home. I’ve chosen three of my favourite images from her account that show the amazing impact that her chosen colour scheme of rich blue and mustard yellow has! Our mustard yellow sunflower print fits perfectly at home on her picture ledge and visually ties together elements of the cushions, throws and other accessories in her relaxing living room. The stunning dining table shot with the flash of bright pink/purple flowers and dark wood furniture creates a striking contrast to the living room; using the same coherent colour palette but turning it on its head to give a completely different feel. I’ve chosen our 'you’re wonderful' print as a complimentary print paring; it’s a playful font with hints of pale blue, pink and green and would work perfectly within this scheme.

All about the details

Sometimes it’s all about the details and Beth from @behindthepinkdoor_19 demonstrates just that in her cosy snug. Using a beautiful blue-green and pink colour palette with warm rich wood tones and touches of gold in the accessories, Beth creates a modern yet timeless look. Our classic pink rose in inky blue vase print reflects the pink and neutral tones found within the furniture and flooring whilst the cute modern scandi houses print reflects the gold accessories and compliments the cool, peaceful calmness of the chosen wall colour.
